Our Leadership
Herb Hess is a Senior Consultant with CNE. Coincidentally, he founded the company in 1992 after successfully operating a Novell Network integration firm for the prior ten years. Since CNE was founded, Herb and the entire CNE team have been honored by Crystal Decisions (subsequently Business Objects) with their Partner of the Year Award for Education in 1998 and in 2001. The award recognizes excellence in the delivery of Education Services to clients in North America.
Herb is actively engaged with clients throughout the year, believing that active participation in providing client services provides that best opportunity to understand the constantly evolving needs of the marketplace. In order to best serve his own clients, he maintains Business Objects Certified Professional status on both the Crystal Reports on XI and BOE (Business Objects Enterprise) on XI certifications. In 2008, Herb will attain Data Integrator Certification as well.
Prior to founding CNE and prior to owning and operating HQ Computing, Herb graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics, majoring in Decision Science at the Wharton School of Business. This degree combines the traditional business curriculum at Wharton with a multi-disciplinary approach to understanding decision-making and the processes which support it, whether it is performed by groups or individuals. The current and future capabilities of Business Intelligence are exciting to Mr. Hess as they now present the ability to deliver sophisticated decision support to individuals at all levels within the organization.
When Herb is not engaged in leading CNE or actively consulting he enjoys the company of his wife and two young children, gardening, hiking, swimming, and boating.
When discussing leadership it is fair to say that the organization chart of CNE does not accurately reflect where leadership originates within the organization. In fact, Herb Hess values the contributions made by all members of the CNE Team whether they are new ideas or critical assessments of how the organization can improve service to clients and meet our own internal goals. In this sense, everyone within CNE is encouraged to lead.
You will find this approach is carried over into your own professional relationship with CNE. Our professionals will not only answer your questions and concerns honestly and with your best interests at heart, they will often engage with you in creative discussions about how business processes can be improved at your business or organization. Often this involves the use of Business Intelligence, but not always. CNE professionals are trained and encouraged to lead clients to improved profitability and performance. We accomplish this through technical proficiency, management experience, exposure to a variety of clients, and open and honest dialog.
When he does not have his consulting hat on, Herb Hess would love to hear from you about your own experience with CNE. He'll take the compliments and pass them on and use the constructive criticism to build a better Team to serve you.
