AMAZON

<Global Store on AMAZON>:

Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN), also known as Amazon.com, is the largest online e-commerce company in the United States, headquartered in Seattle, Washington. It is one of the earliest companies to engage in e-commerce on the Internet.

Founded in 1995, Amazon initially focused on selling books online but has since expanded its product range to include a wide variety of other items. It has become the world's largest online retailer with the most extensive selection of goods and the second-largest internet company globally. Amazon's subsidiaries include Alexa Internet, a9, lab126, and the Internet Movie Database (IMDB).

Amazon, along with other sellers, offers millions of unique new, refurbished, and used products to customers. These products span various categories such as books, movies, music, games, digital downloads, electronics, computers, home and garden supplies, toys, baby products, food, clothing, shoes, jewelry, health and personal care items, sports and outdoor equipment, toys, automobiles, and industrial products.

In July 2019, Amazon was listed in the Fortune Global 500. In October of the same year, it ranked 6th on the Forbes Global 100 list of the world's top digital economy companies. It also secured the third position on the 2019 Top 100 Most Valuable Brands list.

As of now, Amazon's market value is close to $1 trillion.

If you haven't opened a store on Amazon yet, hurry up and register!

Amazon's merchant recruitment for 2020 has been underway for some time. In December, a large number of new sellers joined the fast track of Amazon's 2020 recruitment and successfully registered their Amazon stores, embarking on the challenging and rewarding journey of Amazon business.

However, many new sellers have encountered secondary reviews during the registration process, causing confusion and frustration. Here, I, as a guide, offer three suggestions to new sellers, hoping to help everyone smoothly establish their presence on Amazon:

Ⅰ.Registration

Everyone has heard about Amazon's 2020 merchant recruitment, resulting in a significant increase in the number of new sellers registering. The approval rate is relatively high, although some new sellers may still fail during the primary review.

Based on previous Amazon merchant recruitment practices, December 2019 and January 2020 were the best times to register on Amazon. During these two months, the approval rate for the primary review was much higher, and the chances of encountering secondary reviews were lower. After the Chinese New Year, there will be another peak in Amazon registrations, making it more challenging to register compared to now.

Registering on Amazon before the Chinese New Year allows many new sellers to pass the primary review without facing a secondary review. Utilize this time before the holiday to select products, prepare inventory, and get ready for quick action after the Chinese New Year.

Registering on Amazon after the Chinese New Year will increase the difficulty, especially regarding the chances of encountering secondary reviews. It is highly likely that a high-pressure situation similar to the period from July to November 2019, where all sellers faced secondary reviews, will reoccur. Even if you are fortunate enough to pass the secondary review, you still need to handle product selection, inventory preparation, and listing, which will take at least two months.

Ⅱ. Registration Documentation

Although December 2019 and January 2020 were favorable for registration, it does not guarantee automatic approval. There are strict requirements for registration documentation.

Firstly, it is preferable to use your company's business license for Amazon registration. This increases the approval rate and prevents association issues. Additionally, it prepares you for the secondary review in case it is triggered, allowing you to have a backup plan.

Apart from the business license, the three pieces of information required for registration—dual-currency credit card, mobile phone, and email—should not have been used to register an Amazon store before.

Regarding the documentation for the secondary review, many new sellers have difficulty providing utility bills for water, electricity, or gas. If the company's premises are rented and the utility bills are paid by the property management, you may only have receipts from the property management, which the Amazon review team does not recognize. Therefore, even though many new sellers have valid business licenses, they still cannot provide the necessary bills for the review and fail the secondary review.

Of course, this does not mean that all sellers will fail in such cases. You can apply to the property management to issue utility bills specifically for your company's premises, affix the property management seal and financial seal, which increases the chances of passing the review. If you encounter a secondary review and have no other options.

Ⅲ. Method

Due to changes in Amazon's merchant recruitment policy, there have been many modifications to the registration methods and requirements. For example, previously it was possible to register using a VPS (Virtual Private Server), but now if you still use a VPS for registration, the chances of being rejected during the second review are particularly high.

If it is your first time registering an Amazon store and you are not familiar with the platform's rules, it is not recommended to self-register. Once the registration is unsuccessful, a set of information will be wasted.
